Description
Though the cloister was intended as a place of prayer, medieval monks did not always remain apart from the violence surrounding them. Monasteries and churches could hold land, wealth, and political influence, and their inhabitants might be called upon to defend those possessions in troubled times.
These figures represent ordinary brothers who took up arms to protect their faith, lands, or religious houses. Rather than members of the great military orders, they are monks drawn into battle and equipped with whatever weapons were available.
This hard plastic set builds a varied group of Militant Monks suitable for forces throughout the medieval Christian world, from Western Europe to Outremer. A selection of heads, poses, and weapons lets you create anything from a hastily armed monastic community to a determined fighting brotherhood. Parts can also be combined with other sets in the range for additional variety.
Models require assembly and painting. Bases are included. Contents may vary from photographs.
