DESCRIPTION

FN 158 Fusiliers in pre 1812 campaign dress, March Attack.

Wearing the long-tailed habit these could be used from 1807-14 as the Bardin regulation habit took a while to be fully introduced. The overly baggy overalls are straight from Winkler (the Freiberg Manuscript) a contemporary eyewitness and illustrator. These were becoming very popular at the time. Also some are without their waistcoats, again something Winkler shows but is also confirmed by Major Faber du Faur, soldier and illustrator, Wurttemberg Artillery.
